Joseph Donkor, a passionate graphic designer and entrepreneur from Accra, Ghana, is the founder of PrintEazily, a startup that’s revolutionizing the printing and souvenir industry in Ghana. After spending years working as a freelance graphic designer, Joseph recognized key challenges in the sector, including poor customer service, inconsistent quality, and inconvenience for clients. This realization inspired him to create PrintEazily, a print-from-home solution aimed at making printing services more accessible, convenient, and customer-friendly.

From Freelance to Startup: The Journey of PrintEazily

Joseph’s transition from freelancing to launching a startup wasn’t easy. He started from the corner of his room, using his own savings to build a website for the innovative print-from-home solution. With no external financial support, Joseph had to be resourceful. He began by shipping free souvenirs to friends in exchange for testimonials, which helped build credibility for PrintEazily. Today, the startup is still in its early stages, but it has seen steady growth.

"The journey was hectic, but I’ve seen good improvements. We’re still small, but I’m proud of how far we’ve come," Joseph shares.

Solving Problems with Innovation

PrintEazily’s core mission is to bridge the gap between consumers and the challenges they face when seeking print services and souvenirs. The platform allows clients to order custom print products from the comfort of their homes, providing a seamless and convenient experience. This service is particularly appealing in Ghana, where many traditional print shops require in-person visits, leading to delays and inconvenience.

"By offering a print-from-home service, we’re addressing the pain points of both consumers and small businesses, making it easier for them to access quality print services without the hassle," Joseph explains.

A Vision for the Future

Joseph’s vision for PrintEazily is ambitious. He aims to create a go-to hub for all custom souvenirs and to support small businesses by providing easy access to design and print services. Additionally, he hopes to alleviate youth unemployment in Ghana by creating job opportunities through the startup’s growth.

"My long-term goal is to make PrintEazily a household name for custom souvenirs while also helping to reduce unemployment among the youth in my country," Joseph shares.

What Sets PrintEazily Apart

PrintEazily’s focus on customer service, quality, and convenience sets it apart from traditional print shops in Ghana. The startup offers free consultations with clients for every project, ensuring that each order is tailored to the customer’s specific needs. Additionally, PrintEazily’s innovative print-from-home platform is the first of its kind in the country.

"Our platform is designed to make life easier for our customers. They can order personalized print products online, and we’ll deliver them right to their doorstep. It’s all about convenience and quality," Joseph explains.

Understanding the Market and Competition

Through years of freelancing, Joseph gained valuable insights into the print and souvenir industry. He noticed a growing demand for personalized products, especially for events like weddings, birthdays, and corporate functions. Additionally, the rise of e-commerce in Ghana has made online ordering and delivery more popular, which aligns perfectly with PrintEazily’s business model.

Joseph also conducted informal market research by testing the concept with freelance clients and friends, refining the platform based on their feedback. This validation process confirmed the demand for a convenient, customer-centric printing solution in Ghana.

Staying Ahead in a Competitive Market

In Ghana, PrintEazily faces competition from both traditional print shops and emerging online platforms. However, Joseph believes that the startup’s focus on excellent customer service, flexible design options, and high-quality printing will help it stay ahead.

"Many of our competitors don’t offer the personalized touch or the level of quality assurance that we prioritize at PrintEazily. We’re constantly refining our services based on customer feedback, and we’re exploring eco-friendly print options to align with the sustainability trend," Joseph explains.

Revenue Model and Future Growth

PrintEazily operates on a direct-to-consumer (D2C) model, with its core revenue coming from the sale of custom souvenirs and print products. Looking ahead, Joseph plans to diversify revenue streams by introducing a subscription-based model for frequent customers, expanding corporate partnerships, and offering event-specific services for large-scale events.

"We’re already seeing steady growth in our customer base, and we have ambitious plans for the future. By 2027, we aim to onboard 3,275 personal trainers and wellness professionals onto our platform," Joseph shares.

Challenges and Lessons Learned

Like many entrepreneurs, Joseph has faced challenges along the way, particularly in securing funding to scale PrintEazily. The startup was self-funded through his earnings as a freelancer, which limited the pace of growth. However, Joseph adopted a lean approach to keep costs low while reinvesting profits back into the business.

"I learned early on the importance of cash flow management and building a financial buffer. I also realized that scaling too quickly can stretch resources, so now I take a more calculated approach to growth," Joseph reflects.

Looking to the Future

In the next 5-10 years, Joseph sees digitization and personalization playing a major role in the print and souvenir industry. As technology advances, customers will continue to demand more customization options and faster turnaround times. PrintEazily aims to be at the forefront of this shift by offering highly personalized products and exploring eco-friendly options.

"We want PrintEazily to be a leader in West Africa for convenient, customer-centric printing services. Our goal is to set the standard for seamless online print services and create job opportunities for local youth," Joseph says.
