S E A M (Smooth East African Mobility)

Revolutionizing African Mobility through Electric Carpooling

The Idea origin story

My startup, S E A M, is transforming the future of mobility in Africa. We provide affordable, sustainable transportation adapted to existing infrastructures via our locally manufactured, solar and battery-powered vehicles. We leverage micro-factories for production, and small shops for battery swapping. Additionally, our community carpool services are augmented by an app optimizing travel through data analytics.

The Mission

At SEAM, our mission is to make green mobility accessible and affordable in Africa via solar-powered carpooling.

Clients

Our customers are everyday commuters in Africa, mainly female and young, seeking efficient, affordable, eco-friendly transportation alternatives and businesses focused on green logistics.

Problems we solve

Client’s problem

cost of transportation, lack of comfort of collective existing solutions, maintenance mess for aged thermic vehicles

Confirmation of problem

most cities in Africa are congested with average old cars and overcrowded poor buses, while taxis are too expensive for many and quality of polluted air is poor

Solution

Our solution is eco-friendly 3-4 seat quadricycles that take less space, are silent and cost-effective. Coupled with our carpooling app that financially benefits the drivers.

Our technologies

This solution is based on technologies

At SEAM, we build eco-friendly solar and battery-powered vehicles, made locally in Africa for affordability. We employ micro-factories for production and small shops for battery swaps to keep costs low. With an app that optimizes travel through data analytics, our carpooling services cater to commuters and businesses looking for a greener way of transportation. Consequently, we are addressing the high transportation costs, comfort issues with existing solutions, and maintenance challenges associated with older thermic vehicles. Technologies useful: Solar

How it works

Customers can buy or lease our vehicles and rent batteries. Ride charges via our app cover driver costs, with us taking a 20% commission. Battery swaps are additional.

Value for the client

SEAM offers efficient, affordable green mobility to African commuters and businesses with our solar-powered carpooling and locally manufactured vehicles.
