Campusmart

Innovative Digital Platform for Campuses

The Idea origin story

CampusMart is a comprehensive platform specifically designed for university students, effectively unifying various services such as food delivery, second-hand goods exchange, housing, and community tools all within a single app. Beyond mere consolidation, our platform aims to supersede the fragmented nature of social media groups and costly services like Lieferando, by offering a highly tailored, cost-effective, and student-centric marketplace.

The Mission

Vision: Empower every student with centralized, cheaper, and more connected campus living commerce app. Mission: Unify food, housing, marketplace, and community into one student-first app.

Clients

Primary customers are university students looking for affordable food, housing, and campus deals. Secondary customers include local businesses targeting the student market.

Problems we solve

Client’s problem

CampusMart solves the inefficiency of student life by centralizing food delivery, housing, marketplaces, and social events into one platform. It eliminates the need for scattered tools like WhatsApp groups, saving students and local businesses time, money, and effort. Many restaurants bypass liferando trhough WhatsApp to sell food.

Confirmation of problem

The problem is serious because students miss out on better deals, and local businesses lose revenue by relying on informal, unscalable channels like WhatsApp to reach student customers.

Solution

A mobile-first platform that connects students with local food, housing, and marketplace services — offering better deals for students and structured sales tools for businesses.

Team size and key members

Our core team consists of me as the project lead, and Nika Beruashvili directing product & tech based on her dev knowledge. We're collaborating with an external developer for our MVP development. In addition to this lineup, we can consider hiring a head of marketing to boost our visibility and sales expert who understands your target market intimately which could vastly improve acquisition rates or even an HR manager if your company grows rapidly.

Competitors

Competitors

Noteworthy competitors in our market include CampusBird, Quad, UniLife, ULOOP and StudentsApp. However, we offer a comprehensive integration of services that these players lack.

Our Advantages

CampusMart is a uniquely designed platform targeting exclusively the student market, merging food delivery, marketplace and community features all in one app. It garners advantages such as lower fees, student-only accessibility, and inherent trust to stand out in Germany's market.

Business model

We take a 4% commission on food orders and marketplace transactions. Future revenue streams include featured listings, club promotions, and ad placements.

Traction

In the past 6 months, we tested a website with 70 users. In a market survey of 50 students, 80% said it was an improvement over the current WhatsApp solution. We finalized the MVP design, built core features for food delivery and the marketplace, onboarded our first restaurant, and conducted student surveys to validate demand. Launch is set for April.

Metrics

We monitor user registrations, purchase intentions, and marketplace interactions. Our site trial garnered feedback from 70 users where 80% acknowledged its superiority over WhatsApp. Anticipation for our April MVP launch is amplified weekly through surveys and community excitement.
